Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer besides dog walking?

In addition to dog walking, we offer doggy hikes, pet sitting, in-home boarding, wedding pet attendant services, puppy visits, pet taxi services, and pet chaperone services for special occasions.

How long are your visits, and can I choose the duration?

We offer a variety of visit lengths to suit your pet's needs, including Quick Relief Visits, 20–30 minute visits, 45–60 minute visits, and 70–90 minute visits. During your new client consultation, we'll help determine the best option based on your pet's age, energy level, and routine. You can also request different visit lengths as your needs change.

Do you walk dogs individually or in groups?

We offer both individual and small-group walks.

Our individual walks are perfect for dogs who prefer one-on-one attention, have medical or behavioral considerations, or simply enjoy exploring at their own pace. Our small-group walks are carefully matched based on temperament and compatibility, providing safe socialization and exercise for dogs who enjoy canine companionship.

What areas do you serve?

We currently serve Arlington, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Somerville, Stoneham, and Winchester. We also cover portions of Cambridge, Reading, Revere, and Saugus. Additional service areas may be considered based on proximity and availability.

How do I schedule services?

Every new client begins with a complimentary phone consultation. Once you're approved and onboarded, you'll receive access to our online client portal through Precise Petcare. From there, you can request services, update your pet's information, communicate with our management team, and view detailed visit reports—all in one convenient place.

Safety & Care

How do you ensure my pet's safety during visits?

Your pet's safety is our highest priority. We use positive reinforcement methods and keep all dogs on leash during walks unless otherwise discussed for a specific service. Our team is trained in canine body language, safe handling techniques, and Pet First Aid & CPR, allowing us to confidently care for pets of all ages, temperaments, and abilities.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes! Lucky Lucy's Pets is fully insured and bonded, giving you added peace of mind while your pets are in our care.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Your pet's safety and comfort always come first. During periods of extreme heat, severe cold, thunderstorms, or other hazardous weather conditions, we may modify the visit by shortening outdoor time, incorporating indoor enrichment, or adjusting the schedule when appropriate.

Will my dog always have the same walker?

Clients on a regular recurring schedule are assigned a primary walker whenever possible to provide consistency and build a strong relationship with their pet. Every primary walker also has a designated backup team member for vacations, illness, or emergencies.

For occasional or last-minute service requests, we can't guarantee the same caregiver will always be available, but every member of our team has access to your pet's detailed care instructions to ensure consistent care.

What if my pet has special needs or requires medication?

Absolutely! We have extensive experience caring for senior pets, pets recovering from surgery, and those with chronic medical conditions. Our team is comfortable administering many types of medications, including oral medications, topical medications, injections (when appropriate), and other routine treatments. Additional fees may apply for complex medication administration or specialized medical care.

Do I need to be home during visits?

No. Most of our clients are away from home while services are being performed. We offer several secure methods for home access, including lockboxes, keypad entry, and key management, and we'll work with you during onboarding to determine the option that works best for your household.

How will I know my pet was cared for?

After every visit, you'll receive a detailed journal through our client portal, complete with notes about your pet's visit, photos, GPS tracking (when applicable), and updates on potty breaks, meals, medications, and anything else you'd like us to monitor.

Can you care for puppies, senior pets, or reactive dogs?

Absolutely. Our team has extensive experience caring for pets of all ages, personalities, and abilities. Whether you have a young puppy learning the ropes, a senior pet needing a slower pace, or a dog with behavioral challenges, we'll work with you to create a care plan tailored to their individual needs.

What happens if my pet has an emergency during a visit?

If a medical emergency occurs, we'll make every effort to contact you and your emergency contacts immediately. If urgent veterinary care is needed, we'll transport your pet to your preferred veterinarian or the nearest emergency veterinary hospital while keeping you informed every step of the way.
